Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguasil has revealed that Mikel Oyarzabal’s penalty save from Manchester United in Thursday’s Europa League last-16 first leg was crucial for La Real ahead of next Thursday’s trip to Old Trafford. 

‘I will take everything into consideration. We have to live every moment in these games. Sometimes we have to suffer and sometimes we have to try to find a chance to win. We have to compete all the time, even if they cause us problems,’ Alguasil said.

The Basque coach also spoke highly of United, despite the Red Devils’ struggles in the Premier League. ‘They have a lot of energy, they have a lot of potential, they are very cohesive, they force you to do a lot. They deserve more, they are one of the best teams in Europe.’

‘You have to be very precise and have a lot of speed. They have a very competitive game there and we were able to keep the score and the draw was very valuable.’ 

Alguasil also spoke about La Real’s chances of winning at Old Trafford next Thursday, saying: ‘We know it’s going to be a complicated game and we have to know who we’re up against. Why not?’ ( 123over )
